I photographed Kelly and Derek’s wedding last year in Arizona and this year they got their marriage sealed in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple.  I was thrilled and honored that they asked me to photograph another special day in their lives!  It was a very cold and rainy day.  We started with pictures outside until Kelly was too cold to continue and then we went inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to take a few more photos.

She is Korean and he is Rwandan.  They started out with American attire and had an american ceremony.  The florist wrote the word Love down the aisle in Korean.  I thought this was a great touch!  After the first dances and cake cutting, they both changed into Rwandan attire and came back into the reception and did some Rwandan dances.  The groom really loved and played his part well!!  Then later in the night, they changed into Korean attire to end the night.  This wedding was action packed and a lot of fun!

What a great weekend this was!  I got down there early and hung out with the wedding party on the beach.  I loved having the opportunity to get to know them before the wedding day!  Since Rocky Point is one of their favorite places to visit, they decided they should get married there.

I love that they had a wagon to take the ring bearer down the aisle.  It was cute watching the flower girls pull him down the aisle.  They had a Serbian band play for an hour during the reception without any breaks.  It was amazing to see people dance for an hour straight.  It is also a tradition to have lots of sweets at their wedding.  The more sweets, the sweeter the marriage.

I love when couples make their wedding themed for something they are into!  They had a masquerade themed wedding and even bought masks for all of the guests!  The groom was crying when the bride was walking down the aisle.  It was so emotional, I was crying right along with him.  🙂  Instead of doing a sand ceremony or candle, they made a painting together with their moms.
